Taizé provides rest for the soul,
a time for the weary spirit to take a breath.
For the past eleven years, St. Hubert Church has hosted a Taizé prayer service at 7:00pm on the first Wednesday of each month, fall through spring, with a summer break. Services will again resume on September 6th, 2023. Everyone is welcome to join the Beloved Community in a gathering of contemplative prayer for peace.
Inspired by a contemporary, ecumenical monastery in rural Taizé, France, the prayer service has drawn people of many faith traditions – people who hunger to pray together for peace in our hearts, minds, and communities. Candlelight, readings, simple chants, sacred silence, and prayers of petition link our local community with others around the world, others who are actively present to the desire for better, more equitable, circumstances.
