Peace & Social Justice Commission

The purpose of the Peace and Social Justice Commission is to assist the parish in the promotion and implementation of Catholic social teaching. The Peace and Social Justice Commission assists the pastor to foster works through which the spirit of the Gospel is promoted, even that which pertains to social justice. The role of the Peace and Social Justice Commission includes the following duties.

  • Assisting the parish to be a witness of charity and justice to the larger community
  • Ensuring education of staff, consultative groups, and parish at large regarding Catholic social teaching
  • Engaging in strategic planning, policy development, and recommendation in the area of Catholic social teaching in response to parish priorities and goals
  • Serving as a liaison to affiliated archdiocesan initiatives.
