Special Olympics

Our St. Hubert Council was present to support the athletes, their families, and all the volunteers at the Special Olympics.

Flagpole Installation

The morning of Saturday, June 12, 2021, two days before Flag Day, provided a sunny respite between wet weather systems.  It was a perfect opportunity to dedicate the most recent addition to the grounds of St Hubert Parish, a 40-foot flagpole.  The salvaged flagpole was formerly located in front of the Visser Funeral Home.

Richard McGrath, the project manager responsible for erecting the pole at St Hubert, thanked the Soundview Center, Puget Sound Energy, Joe LaChausee and the Knights of Columbus for the donated pole, expertise, effort and materials that made the new addition possible.  He praised their efforts to support the community, ensuring that the flag continues to fly over South Whidbey.

Approximately 40 parish and community members attended.  Five members of Scout troop 4058 performed the flag ceremony.  The leader of the flag ceremony was Scout Michael Martinez.  He was supported by Scouts Aiden Dockery, Noah Lay, Gwen Miller, and Finnbar Price.  After raising the flag, they led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a recitation of the Scout Oath and Law.

Our Mission
We are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. There is much good and necessary work to be done in this world, and that’s what Knights do every day.

Our Faith
Our goal is to help men, their families, and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith.

Charity is at the heart of our work and our faith, and it always has been. For the Knights of Columbus, charity means supporting a boundless variety of projects. The St. Hubert council of the Knights of Columbus is very active doing charitable work for our parish and our island neighbors.
