Bereavement

Blessed are they who mourn for they will be comforted.
Matthew 5:4

Grief Support Group

“In every heart there is an inner room, where we can hold our greatest treasures and our deepest pain.”  ~ Marianne Williamson

If you have lost a loved one, please join us for the monthly meeting of the St. Hubert Grief Support Group in the Counseling Room of the RE Building. We meet at 1:00pm on the fourth Thursday of the month.

All who are grieving the loss of a loved one are welcome to join us to find compassion and support. The group provides a place for people to connect with others who have also had a death in their lives, and to share their unique grief journey in a safe, supportive environment. Connecting with others who have this common bond of experience can be a source of comfort and helpful in building momentum towards healing. Please contact Alice at 360.221.0746 if you would like more information.

Bereavement ministers strive to be the compassionate heart and hands of Jesus. No one can really remove another’s pain, but we can walk beside and support others through their sorrows. Parishioners involved in our Bereavement ministry find that in supporting others their own faith is nourished and deepened.

The breadth of the Bereavement ministry is ever increasing. Beyond helping people deal with death and the grief that results from the loss of a loved one (which can include funeral and funeral reception plans), our ministers can help parishioners who are dealing with serious illness of one’s self or a loved one.

The Bereavement ministry works closely with the Mental Health Support ministry and Pastoral Outreach to provide compassionate support.
