Getting to know the Synod Synthesis Document
For three weeks, we’ll have some highlights of the document…in the bulletin and on the website.
This week is Part I.
Divided into three parts, this document summarizes the rich experience and many of the topics covered last October during the Synod on Synodality. There are a total of 20 topics covered in the document. Each topic overview has three parts: convergences (what the attendees understood about the topic); considerations (where more study and prayer are needed); and proposals (specific suggestions to move the conversations forward). This effort is about renewal based in the Apostolic and scriptural tradition and out of love for it.
PLEASE be an informed part of the conversation. Part 1 has 17 pages, a total of 7 topics. Consider reading one each day. Click on any of the titles below to read the documents. They can also be downloaded or printed.

Synodal Listening Sessions – questions to consider
When we meet on March 13 to give feedback and perspective for the ongoing synodal conversation, these are the questions that we’ll be considering and responding to.
The format will be the same as for the listening sessions we did for the Partners in the Gospel parish family determinations. Question. Each person speaks. Pause. Next person speaks. And so on until everyone has had his/her minutes. After everyone has spoken, we will have time for conversation. We’ll capture the comments and send them on to the archdiocese.
- Where have I experienced, or witnessed, ways in which Church structures, leadership, or life hinder our shared mission?
- Where have I experienced, or witnessed, ways in which Church structures, leadership, or life encourage and foster our shared mission?
- What did we hear today? Where do you sense the Holy Spirit moving in our sharing today? What is needed to help all the baptized respond to our shared call to proclaim the Gospel and live as a community of love and mercy in Christ?
Thanks for being part of helping bring in the new face of our beloved Church.
