St. Hubert Ministries

Our beautiful Catholic Church, here on South Whidbey Island, has so many ministries, literally something for everyone. As we highlight some of these ministries, we will focus this week on the Evangelization Committee.

This group endeavors to help parishioners become joyful disciples of Jesus Christ bearing the light of His truth, goodness and beauty to our community and beyond. Our specific goals enable us to share with others our Catholic faith, scripture and personal encounters with the Lord.

With a passion for our faith, our Evangelization Committee has prepared general information to share at the Tilth Sunday farmers market starting the first weekend in July. The purpose is to inform people about who we are, our beliefs, traditions and teachings. This is an opportunity to truly spread the word of God and the teachings of the Catholic church. Thank you Evangelization Committee for sharing your vision! What a beautiful, beautiful gift they are sharing.

Music Ministry

Music opens the heart to God’s Word in a profound way. Do you feel called to proclaim the Word each week in song or instrument and to help lead the assembly to a deeper sense of prayer and community as the Body of Christ? If so, then the music ministry at St. Hubert is the place for you! Come experience the liturgical cycle as we sing our way through the church year! We meet for rehearsal each Thursday evening from 6:30pm – 8:00pm and Sunday from 9:15am- 10:15am.

Altar Servers

For Catholics, nothing is more important than the Mass. It is the heart and soul of our worship of God. It is the celebration that gives us strength to live a Christian life. Servers are a vital part in leading others in prayer. This prayer, which is the Mass, is made present not only by the celebrant, the deacon and other ministers, but the presence of servers who bring to the Mass a deep reverence and love for the God whom we worship. Please join with me and the other altar servers in a ministry that will change your life. Remember, God is calling you to serve at his supper table. May you hear him calling to you!

Art & Environment – Altar care, Banners, Church linens & Flowers

This Ministry is both sacred and joyous work. Our intention is to honor seasonal aspects of our liturgies by creating a warm, sacred and inviting worship space. There are many ways to serve such as flower arranging, placement of appropriate banners, care of altar linens and providing flowers, which on occasion, honor special persons. This team is also responsible for cleaning brass, light dusting and ironing altar linens. Please consider joining this rewarding ministry.

We offer a program for the unbaptized who want to investigate the Catholic faith, as well as baptized Christians who wish to prepare for the sacraments for full communion with the church. Volunteer options are to be a sponsor, or to faith share by breaking open the gospel readings with the catechumens at the dismissal rite during Mass. If you are willing to share your faith please join us. All seekers are welcome and invited to call.
