St. Hubert Logo

Questions, Thoughts, Suggestions, Guidelines and Rules

Logo

What is a logo?

Basically it’s a visual identifier, a reminder of the entity that uses it and all that entity stands for. Your favorite team has one, so does your favorite super hero.
Most logos don’t include words but are simple symbols. Some use the name, or some letters from the name in a stylized manner.

Why not use St. Hubert?

We do have some nice artwork of our Patron Saint already. The problem is that St. Hubert, his dog and the stag require a fair amount of detail. We need a logo that can be shrunk to the size of nickel and still be identifiable.  Some have suggested a variation on the horns and cross theme but we’d like to stay away from anything resembling the Jägermeister logo. We love Hubert and would be happy to use him if the right artwork were developed.

What do we want St Hubert’s logo to convey?

As part of the Mission Statement process the congregation was asked to fill of series of surveys. Many of the questions related to how we see ourselves as a group, and what traits it is that binds us. Overwhelmingly the responses centered on various expressions of love; welcoming anyone, friendships, helping each other, serving the community and of course love of God and the worship that goes with that. All of the responses we received coalesced into our Mission Statement:
As Roman Catholics, centered in the Eucharist,
our mission is to live Christ’s Gospel message
to love, teach, pray and serve.
We see ourselves as an active, vibrant people who live their faith daily. We are diverse in age, education, and income yet united into action by our Catholic faith.
