“God is calling each of us, to deepen our faith.” Small Faith Sharing Groups invite and welcome you! Our parish community has many Small Faith Sharing Groups thatgather throughout our community to deepen, grow, share, and understand our faith of God through fellowship and the Gospels. Each group is unique just like you! Join a Small Faith Sharing Group today.
This ministry offers all parishioners the opportunity to pray from home for special re- quest needs. Contact the parish office with your prayer request or to be on our list as one of those who pray.

Visiting Ministers to the Homebound/Pastoral Care
Pastoral care is the loving and compassionate care of the sick, homebound and dying through home and hospital visits. The care and love shown to others is what Jesus expects of each of us. As scripture tells us; “Love one another as I have loved you.” Please join Deacon Larry in a ministry that gives more blessings than you could ever imagine.
Women of St. Hubert (WOSH)
The Women of St. Hubert have a long history of service to the community, and raising money for both our parish and South Whidbey non-profits. We focus on fundraising, service and prayer while building rela onships spiritually and socially. This extremely generous group of women give their me, treasure and talents to help others as we live our faith. All women are welcome and we invite you to join us.
Coffee Hour/Hospitality & Fellowship
he purpose of our Coffee Hour is to build community by providing an opportunity for parishioners and guests to meet socially a er mass. The Coffee Hour hosts ensure that coffee, beverages and treats are prepared and items are cleaned up a er each Sunday mass. Individuals and parish ministries commit to hos ng Sunday coffee hours.
Funeral Reception Ministry
The Funeral Recep on Ministry helps families by offering a recep on as a place for family and friends to gather for fellowship; to share, reminisce and remember the life of their loved one and their happy mes together. At this me, we need ladies (or men) to partake in the planning of the recep on following the funeral Mass.
We are part of this beau ful created world that we have been commanded by God to care for. Join an interes ng group of parishioners who look for ways to increase our awareness of how we can be ever be er stewards of crea on. Caring for our common home is one theme of Catholic Social Teaching.
Knights of Columbus
Our Knights of Columbus Council is an ac ve group doing charitable work for our parish and island neighbors. We meet once a month and pursue our fun and produc ve projects as a group. You may ask any Knight more informa on. Please consider joining us.
Taize (tay-zay) Prayer
We pray in a combina on of medita ve singing, short scripture readings, prayers of praise and intercession, and sacred silence. It is a me to come to a greater union with God. All are invited. We meet the first Wednesday of each month from Sept – May at 7:00pm in the church sanctuary.
Faith Formation for Families
How do we each become closer and closer to God through our whole life? Through prayer, learning, sharing with one another, and being of service to others. This is the heart of faith forma on and it is for all of us. We have an intergenera onal approach this year-to help us all learn from one another as well as from scholars. If you enjoy helping package family-centered educa on packets that go home every two weeks, or can help organize and serve at monthly gatherings for children, youth and adults, or want to be involved in prepara on for the sacraments for children and adults, then please become part of the Faith Forma on Team! We also have an array of seasonal events that might need your special talent. Come join us on this new adventure!
Many of you have asked for a regular Faith Forma on Book Group, so with the won- derful Fred Olson Library, we have the perfect vehicle to encourage faith sharing through book discussion groups. If you are interested in being part of this effort, the Evangeliza on Committee welcomes your partcipa on.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
We offer a program for the unbap zed who want to inves gate the Catholic faith, as well as bap zed Chris ans who wish to prepare for the sacraments for full communion with the church. Volunteer op ons are to be a sponsor, or to faith share by breaking open the gospel readings with the catechumens at the dismissal rite during Mass. If you are willing to share your faith please join us. All seekers are welcome and invited to call.
Art & Environment
Altar care, Banners, Church linens & Flowers This Ministry is both sacred and joyous work. Our inten on is to honor seasonal aspects of our liturgies by crea ng a warm, sacred and invi ng worship space. There are many ways to serve such as flower arranging, placement of appropriate banners, care of altar linens and providing flowers, which on occasion, honor special persons. This team is also responsible for cleaning brass, light dus ng and ironing altar linens. Please consider joining this rewarding ministry.
For Catholics, nothing is more important than the Mass. It is the heart and soul of our worship of God. It is the celebra on that gives us strength to live a Chris an life. Servers are a vital part in leading others in prayer. This prayer, which is the Mass, is made present not only by the celebrant, the deacon and other ministers, but the presence of servers who bring to the Mass a deep reverence and love for the God whom we worship. Please join with me and the other altar servers in a ministry that will change your life. Remember, God is calling you to serve at his supper table. May you hear him calling to you!

If you would like to be part of helping with publicity for events, some social media efforts, or keeping our website filled with good content...we would love your help in the Communica ons Ministry.
Gardening, landscape or maintenance are areas for the handymen (or women) and gardeners among us. We would love your help to keep things beau ful and healthy.
Leadership skills and the desire to be involved with the community at the policy- making level are two important quali es for those who serve on the Parish Council. We are the consulta ve body to the pastor. Please discern your call to this service.
Peace and Social Justice Commission
Are you interested in the social jus ce teachings of our faith? Why jus ce? It is a moral virtue by which you give others what is due to them. We strive to explore our Catholic teachings in an open, non-biased environment and then share with the parish community through workshops, educa on and guest speakers. Please join us and add your voice.
This ministry endeavors to educate the faith community about the value of stewardship in each of our lives through sharing our Time, Talent and Treasure. Please join our crea ve group!
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Do you desire to serve in the profound act of offering the Eucharist to others at Mass? Extraordinary Ministers serve at all weekend masses and special liturgies. Training is provided and considera on is given to your scheduling needs. Is the Lord calling you to this ministry?
Do you enjoy making others feel welcome? The greeter is an important ministry at mass. You are the first person a new parishioner or visitor sees. Greeters welcome and assist with sea ng and the flow during communion. They also distribute programs, bulle ns and gather collec ons. Training is provided.
Our liturgies call the community to gather and listen a en vely to the Words of Scrip- ture. Do you love the Scriptures? Do you feel called to proclaim the Word to the as- sembly during the liturgy? The Lector is the minister who brings the scriptures to life for all to hear. This ministry offers an opportunity for you to become a lector. Follow- ing a brief training session, you will be added to the lector schedule.
Suppor ng our parish financially is important, and equally valuable are those who lend their “coun ng skills” to the weekly task of coun ng and recording the dona ons that provide our parish support. If you enjoy dealing with numbers, and are willing to count the pennies and dollars, record the detailed informa on, and can prepare the needed paperwork for the bank deposits...St. Hubert needs you! This ministry will only take a few hours each month and is so essen al to our parish.
Many tasks arise each week that are accomplished by our dedicated volunteers do- na ng their me. Suppor ng our office staff through phone answering, stuffing en- velopes and bulle ns, crea ng inserts, and tabula ng results are just a few of the ways that our parishioners have been sharing their gi s. If you enjoy doing this type of ac vity on occasion, please add your name to our list of office volunteer contacts.
This group endeavors to help parishioners become joyful disciples of Jesus Christ bearing the light of His truth, goodness and beauty to our community and beyond. Our specific goals enable us to share with others our Catholic faith, scripture and personal encounters with the Lord. One of those goals was met last Spring with the establishment of the “Fred Olson Memorial Library to help provide easy access to His Truth. Come help us fulfill Pope Francis’ call to “Go and Make Disciples.”
Faith Formation Commission
How real is your faith to you? Do you get excited about learning more about it and want to share that excitement with others? Then, the Faith Forma on Commission is for you. This group will help assess parish needs for faith forma on for all ages, sug- gest ways to increase knowledge and spirituality, and work with the Faith Forma on Coordinator to bring the best sugges ons to life.
The parish Finance Council is a consultave body offering advice to our Pastor concerning the stewardship of St. Hubert’s financial resources. The council conducts long-range financial planning, develops and oversees the parish budget process, provides analysis of parish expenses and income, and provides financial analysis of proposed project, program, and administra ve func ons. A background in finance, accoun ng or business administra on is important and desired (although not required) for being a member of the Finance Council. The council also oversees the maintenance of parish grounds and facili es.
Do you appreciate good liturgy? Do you have an interest in helping shape the liturgies at St. Hubert? The Liturgy Commission meets monthly to plan liturgies as well as seasonal celebra ons that call our community to full, ac ve partcipation. We invite you to join our lively discussions while learning more about liturgy.
Mental Health Support Committee
The new Mental Health Support Commi ee is a joint effort of St. Hubert and Trinity Lutheran Prayer Groups to collect bibles and needed gi items for residents of Western State Hospital. “Christmas at Western State Hospital” is the ini al project begun in October 2016 to collect listed items for delivery to the hospital in early November. These include bingo prizes, holiday and other gi s. Monetary gi s are also collected as the hospital is dependent on dona ons from the community.
